F Fitness Training

 

In order to improve golf performance one must develop static and dynamic stability.

Trying to develop dynamic stability and/or power without developing static stability first would be detrimental to ones performance.

The focus of this program is to improve neuromuscular efficiency (brain muscle communication), increase postural control, improve muscle length-tension relationship (LTR) and improve intrinsic stabilization of the lumbo-pelvic-hip complex to allow for the expression of functional strength.

This program will serve as a base for strength and power conditioning that will follow.

This program is designed to last up to four to six weeks and should be done in conjunction with a total body workout.

Now that you have improved flexibility and stability through phase I of the golf conditioning program it is time to work on strength adaptations.

Please note it is very important that you complete phase one prior to moving on to phase two.

Phase two of golf conditioning will focus on strength development. Strength is important for injury prevention as well as it will assist in finishing the game without fatigue.

As golfers fatigue their motor coordination deteriorates which in turn makes them change their technique.

Another important reason for strength development is the fact that strength training sets the platform for power training which will be the focus of phase III of golf conditioning.

Only after developing appropriate flexibility, stability and strength is it safe to start working on power development for golf.

This program will focus on multi-planer power development for golf.

The following exercises are to be performed in vertically loaded fashion with 90 sec. rest at the end of each circuit.

Please perform all the exercise with the specified tempo.
